前几天（4月30日），英国政府宣布，英国的冠状病毒肺炎疫情已达高峰拐点，感染人数和死亡人数开始逐渐下降了，解禁指日可待。
这是专家的看法，应该是有科学依据的。可至今（5月4日）日报新增感染病例仍有4342（昨日数据）。 而累计死亡人数已高达28205。这已远超最初的预计数了。
和别的欧美国家一样，英国是民主政府，信息透明，死了这么多人，老百姓也都认了，归究于病毒的不可防治性。然而，难道政府的决策就没有可质疑之处吗？信息透明并不等于防范得力，为什么新加坡只有单位数的死亡人数？类似体制的德国的死亡人数也要少许多！稍微归纳一下，失策处不少，或许能从中吸取教训。
首先，英国的早期防范太差，太迟。尽管一月份就要求从中国来的人，到英国后都自我隔离两周，但对从其它国家入境的人，则没有任何隔离措施。机场没人检测体温，也没有要求人和人之间保持距离。后来意大利，法国都有疫情了，可英国仍没有任何的旅行限制和防范措施。学校期中假也不阻止旅游，以至许多学校在欧洲疫情爆发期依然组团去意大利，法国滑雪，度假。而且，他们回英国后，既无隔离，也无追踪观察。不难想像，那时就为英国随后的大爆发埋下了隐患。
英国最早的病例是一英国人去新加坡开会后感染的。没有任何防范，他还去了法国滑雪，感染了同去的朋友和当地的人。回到英国后又感染了他的家庭医生，以至诊所关闭，局部小流行。
尽管英国3月初就开始了全国居家隔离，政府要求所有的人只闭门不出，只是必要时才单独外出，但为时已晚，不能阻止疫情的爆发。而不彻底的隔离也未能切断感染的途径，隔离了五周，疫情仍在持续发展中。
其次，对医护人员的保护不到位。客观上没有足够的防护装置，所以只能因陋就简。这不仅导致大量的医务人员受感染，甚至死亡，而且还导致了对其他病人和家属的交叉感染。早期的确缺乏防护装置，可是后来不应该短缺了。问题是统一制定的防护标准太低，比中国的防护差多了。即便是在传染危险最高的病房和重症监护室，也没有全身防护的隔离服。
第三，对老人集中的养老院防护严重不足，导致大量老年人感染，死亡。从世界各地的疫情来看，老年人易感，而且死亡率和年龄成正比，因冠状病毒肺炎死亡的人绝大多数是老年人，这是在多数国家都验证了的事实，可不知道为何，英国养老院的隔离晚而且不够严格。至今，养老院的护理人员仍缺乏防护装置，从医院回来的病人不检测，所以交叉感染难以避免，死亡人数自然就会不断增加了。
全球范围内，冠状病毒的疫苗的研制尚无结果。即便有成功的，也是几个月之后的事情了。难道走出困境，真得靠群体自然免疫了吗？倘若如此，代价也太高了。年轻人大多无碍，毁的多是老人，而我们这年龄，应该是在去留之间的，只能靠运气了。
中国的防护，看个门诊就这么保护着。
