前几天（4月30日），英国政府宣布，英国的冠状病毒肺炎疫情已达高峰拐点，感染人数和死亡人数开始逐渐下降了，解禁指日可待。
这是专家的看法，应该是有科学依据的。可至今（5月4日）日报新增感染病例仍有4342（昨日数据）。 而累计死亡人数已高达28205。这已远超最初的预计数了。
和别的欧美国家一样，英国是民主政府，信息透明，死了这么多人，老百姓也都认了，归究于病毒的不可防治性。然而，难道政府的决策就没有可质疑之处吗？信息透明并不等于防范得力，为什么新加坡只有单位数的死亡人数？类似体制的德国的死亡人数也要少许多！稍微归纳一下，失策处不少，或许能从中吸取教训。
首先，英国的早期防范太差，太迟。尽管一月份就要求从中国来的人，到英国后都自我隔离两周，但对从其它国家入境的人，则没有任何隔离措施。机场没人检测体温，也没有要求人和人之间保持距离。后来意大利，法国都有疫情了，可英国仍没有任何的旅行限制和防范措施。学校期中假也不阻止旅游，以至许多学校在欧洲疫情爆发期依然组团去意大利，法国滑雪，度假。而且，他们回英国后，既无隔离，也无追踪观察。不难想像，那时就为英国随后的大爆发埋下了隐患。
英国最早的病例是一英国人去新加坡开会后感染的。没有任何防范，他还去了法国滑雪，感染了同去的朋友和当地的人。回到英国后又感染了他的家庭医生，以至诊所关闭，局部小流行。
尽管英国3月初就开始了全国居家隔离，政府要求所有的人只闭门不出，只是必要时才单独外出，但为时已晚，不能阻止疫情的爆发。而不彻底的隔离也未能切断感染的途径，隔离了五周，疫情仍在持续发展中。
其次，对医护人员的保护不到位。客观上没有足够的防护装置，所以只能因陋就简。这不仅导致大量的医务人员受感染，甚至死亡，而且还导致了对其他病人和家属的交叉感染。早期的确缺乏防护装置，可是后来不应该短缺了。问题是统一制定的防护标准太低，比中国的防护差多了。即便是在传染危险最高的病房和重症监护室，也没有全身防护的隔离服。
第三，对老人集中的养老院防护严重不足，导致大量老年人感染，死亡。从世界各地的疫情来看，老年人易感，而且死亡率和年龄成正比，因冠状病毒肺炎死亡的人绝大多数是老年人，这是在多数国家都验证了的事实，可不知道为何，英国养老院的隔离晚而且不够严格。至今，养老院的护理人员仍缺乏防护装置，从医院回来的病人不检测，所以交叉感染难以避免，死亡人数自然就会不断增加了。
全球范围内，冠状病毒的疫苗的研制尚无结果。即便有成功的，也是几个月之后的事情了。难道走出困境，真得靠群体自然免疫了吗？倘若如此，代价也太高了。年轻人大多无碍，毁的多是老人，而我们这年龄，应该是在去留之间的，只能靠运气了。
中国的防护，看个门诊就这么保护着。

sorry, have to give thumbs down to this product. Not accurate to the picture, no padding in the heel's upper pull tap, deformed sole, bubbling under the area that is supposed to be flat, glue showing. Not good quality. And the box was destroyed by the shipping company, though that's not really the seller's fault. My main disappointment is the colours. I used to have the originals back in the 90s and these reps are a shadow of the former shoes :(

The shoes are pretty accurate for the price. Comfort is good. Materials are ok. I had an issue with the tongue of my shoe, but the seller and I were able to reach a compromise. Overall, I would recommend this seller for this shoe at this price point. And I will do business with them again.
How a seller treats its customers when they mess up is almost as important as not messing up at all. Quality control is going to miss something at some point. The important thing is that the seller admitted their mistake and worked toward rectifying it.
